Privacy Policy

Private Tab (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a software product operated from Timisoara, Romania. We provide a digital bar tab and point-of-sale management system for private bars and members clubs.

We collect the following personal data:

• Account data: Email address, display name, and encrypted password when you create an account
• Bar profile data: Bar name, logo image, and team member information
• Usage data: Sales records, tab history, inventory data, and reports generated through the app
• Billing data: Payment card details (processed and stored by Stripe - we never see or store your full card number), subscription status, and billing history
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, and device information collected automatically when you use the app

We use your data to:

• Provide and operate the Private Tab service
• Process your subscription payments via Stripe
• Send you transactional emails (account verification, password reset, team invitations)
• Provide customer support when you contact us
• Improve and maintain the app

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

We process your personal data under the following legal bases:

• Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for
• Legitimate interests: Technical data collected to ensure security and performance
• Legal obligation: Where required by applicable law

Your data is stored using Google Firebase, hosted in the European Union (europe-west1, Belgium). Your data does not leave the EU.

We also use:

• Stripe (payment processing) - data processed in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
• Resend (email delivery) - data processed in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained indefinitely so you can reactivate without losing your setup - cancelling a subscription does not, by itself, delete anything.

You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time by going to Settings and selecting Delete Account in the app. This is immediate and self-service, not a request we process later: it cancels your subscription, deletes every bar you own together with all of its data (products, sales, tabs, inventory, and everything else associated with it), and deletes your account.

As an EU resident, you have the following rights:

• Right of access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your data
• Right to portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to object: Object to processing of your data
• Right to restrict processing: Request we limit how we use your data

Private Tab uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. These cookies are necessary for the app to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase - authentication, database, and file storage (Privacy Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy)
• Stripe - payment processing (Privacy Policy: stripe.com/privacy)
• Resend - transactional email delivery (Privacy Policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy)

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a notice in the app. Continued use of Private Tab after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
